You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Tanor Bortolini in pick No. 122. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

J.J. McCarthy is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
