Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureD
The Ravens turned the phones into found money: B-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tyler Batty at the Round 4 slot is 121 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Simon at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In slot 30 they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick65 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
A tidy bit of business in the 65th pick, where TreVeyon Henderson graded well above the range. It fills a real need, too.
Pick91 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Donovan Jackson at pick No. 91. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105 Rnd4 Tyler Batty
A big swing on Tyler Batty at No. 105, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick109 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Anthony Belton. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick129 Rnd4 Tory Horton
Tory Horton at the 129th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick136 Rnd4 Nick Nash
Nick Nash at No. 136 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick176 Rnd5 Cody Simon
Cody Simon in pick 176 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick183 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
They took Joshua Gray at par in slot 183, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick203 Rnd6 Ty Hamilton
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ty Hamilton well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick210 Rnd6 Dayon Hayes
A wild overpay on Dayon Hayes in pick No. 210, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick212 Rnd6 Barryn Sorrell
They left a pile of value on the table to take Barryn Sorrell this early at the Round 6 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick243 Rnd7 Gino Garcia
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gino Garcia. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick251 Rnd7 Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. at the 251st overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick256 Rnd7 Jordan Watkins
They reached into another round for Jordan Watkins, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick257 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
A reach on Shilo Sanders in slot 257; the board had better options right there. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
