The curious call sets the tone. With edge rusher, quarterback and other spots still glaring, the Chargers used pick No. 125 on Billy Bowman Jr., a safety they were not exactly short of. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. That Hunter pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
