The Patriots left with their quarterback, and a B+ to match.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Reaching for Slovis left real value on the table behind him. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Speights steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
