The board owed the Panthers one, and it paid up: CJ Daniels, the No. 169 name on the board, sitting there at No. 194 like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

Barton has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
