Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D+
ValueB- NeedB- TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Packers to a D+.

Nobody else had Tim Keenan III anywhere near pick No. 103. The Packers did, by 52 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

The Slaughter steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick59 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jake Slaughter reach pick No. 59 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick69 Rnd3 Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson at pick 69 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick103 Rnd4 Tim Keenan III
They reached a country mile for Tim Keenan III at the 103rd overall pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick161 Rnd5 Kage Casey
No edge and no loss on Kage Casey in slot 161; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick206 Rnd6 Makhi Hughes
Makhi Hughes at the 206th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick242 Rnd7 Peyton Bowen
They took Peyton Bowen at par in Round 7, Pick 27, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick255 Rnd7 Cayden Lee
Cayden Lee in No. 255 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
