Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

TradesB-
FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Williams: B. You could see the war room lean forward. Miyan Williams at Round 6, Pick 44 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting Turner proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In pick No. 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims in pick 41 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick57
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
A quiet steal in slot 57: Xavier Legette for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick88
Rnd3
Trey Benson
Trey Benson at No. 88 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92
Rnd3
Tykee Smith
By-the-book stuff, Tykee Smith at Round 3, Pick 29 squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick125
Rnd4
Shemar Turner
They paid up for Shemar Turner at the 125th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick135
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Khyree Jackson graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick203
Rnd6
Christian Jones
The board fumbled Christian Jones all the way to the 203rd pick, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick217
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
The board had Curtis Jacobs higher than No. 217, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick219
Rnd6
Miyan Williams
Miyan Williams at the 219th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jason Henderson
Value with a capital V on Jason Henderson in the 246th overall pick, a genuine coup. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
