This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Ainias Smith, the No. 175 name on the board, stolen at the 251st overall pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The cost of the Mahogany reach is exactly the players who went right after him. It is not that DeJean is a bad player; it is that the Lions had louder needs to answer first. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
