Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB- TradesD FutureA
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Jets to a B.

The Jets torched the value chart for Gino Garcia, taking him 78 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Getting McCord where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the Round 1 slot they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, outstanding value to boot.
Pick42 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in pick No. 42 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in slot 58 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick92 Rnd3 Xavier Restrepo
Circle this one: Xavier Restrepo at pick 92 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick109 Rnd4 Savion Williams
The board had Savion Williams higher than No. 109, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick146 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
Somehow Hollin Pierce was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 7, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick157 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
The board fumbled Kyle McCord all the way to the 157th overall pick, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick188 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on JJ Pegues. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick209 Rnd6 Gino Garcia
They reached into another round for Gino Garcia, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
