Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Rams won the night they stopped Johnson from sliding. Grade: B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Rams were there to profit. Cornelius Johnson, the No. 187 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 6 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

The Hart pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at running back, tight end and other spots. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Milton III reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In pick No. 19 they get an island corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick52 Rnd2 Junior Colson
No edge and no loss on Junior Colson in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick83 Rnd3 Gabriel Murphy
Gabriel Murphy at the 83rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick100 Rnd3 Cam Hart
A want over a need in pick 100: Cam Hart adds a cornerback while running back, tight end and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick153 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malik Mustapha. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick154 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
The board had Roger Rosengarten higher than Round 5, Pick 18, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick177 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 177 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick191 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
They paid a round early for Joe Milton III in slot 191, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick212 Rnd6 Cornelius Johnson
The board fumbled Cornelius Johnson all the way to Round 6, Pick 37, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick217 Rnd6 Nathan Thomas
A slide stopped in the 217th pick, with Nathan Thomas worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick218 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
They paid sticker price for Jaylen Harrell in slot 218, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
