Landon000 DRAFTING FOR THEBears

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bears: B-. The tape said wait; the Bears did not. Tanner Mordecai went at Round 7, Pick 36, a good 47 picks before the board was ready. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They banked enough surplus on Braswell to cover a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In the 9th overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick75
Rnd3
Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell at Round 3, Pick 11 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick110
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at slot 110 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick146
Rnd5
Jordan Travis
Nice patience on Jordan Travis, who had no business lasting to the 146th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick256
Rnd7
Tanner Mordecai
They reached into another round for Tanner Mordecai, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
