The Bengals turned the phones into found money: B-. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bengals were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Bengals clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In No. 17 they get a run-stuffing presence up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick49
Rnd2
Trey Amos
No edge and no loss on Trey Amos in Round 2, Pick 17; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
