The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Dolphins reached some 56 spots for Karene Reid, and value like that does not grow back. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They banked enough surplus on Mafah to cover a lot of smaller sins. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
