GPURIFORY DRAFTING FOR THEBears

FutureA+
A franchise passer in Daniels headlines a A- weekend for the Bears. The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
Reaching for Rouse left real value on the table behind him. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
In the end it comes back to Jayden Daniels, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the 8th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In the 9th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick43
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
They jumped the gun on Jackson Powers-Johnson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick47
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
A real head-scratcher, Payton Wilson in slot 47 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick69
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
They took Brenden Rice at par in No. 69, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
No edge and no loss on Cooper Beebe in Round 3, Pick 11; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick122
Rnd4
Malik Washington
Malik Washington at pick No. 122 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick124
Rnd4
James Williams
No drama and no debate, James Williams went about where he belonged in pick 124. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick146
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
They paid sticker price for Jaylin Simpson in pick No. 146, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick212
Rnd6
Walter Rouse
They reached into another round for Walter Rouse, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick245
Rnd7
DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart in slot 245 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
