Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA FutureB-
Skattebo should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cowboys were there to profit. Cam Skattebo, the No. 114 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 248th pick. No fireworks, but a solid B.

Every board in the league had Brown lower, and that gap is the story. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In slot 13 they get an every-down engine for the run game, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
They robbed the room for Harold Fannin Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick78 Rnd3 Alfred Collins
A slide stopped in No. 78, with Alfred Collins worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick84 Rnd3 Logan Brown
They left a pile of value on the table to take Logan Brown this early at pick 84. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick148 Rnd5 Danny Stutsman
You do not let a linebacker like Danny Stutsman reach the 148th overall pick and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick168 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
They reached a country mile for Davison Igbinosun at the 168th pick, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick170 Rnd5 Lathan Ransom
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Lathan Ransom in pick No. 170, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick171 Rnd5 Cody Simon
Cody Simon in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick189 Rnd6 Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick209 Rnd6 De'Corian Clark
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for De'Corian Clark. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick248 Rnd7 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at the 248th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
