Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
D-

NeedA-

FutureC-
A passer of the future in Daniels, and a D-, for the Browns. The Browns lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
Whatever Jayden Daniels becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick9
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
No drama and no debate, Jayden Daniels went about where he belonged in the 9th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick15
Rnd1
Nate Wiggins
In slot 15 they get an island corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
No edge and no loss on Xavier Worthy in Round 2, Pick 22; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick72
Rnd3
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens at pick 72 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick85
Rnd3
Blake Corum
A straight-up fair deal on Blake Corum at pick No. 85, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick111
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
They took Matt Goncalves at par in No. 111, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick112
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
They paid sticker price for Sataoa Laumea in the 112th pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick114
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at the 114th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick123
Rnd4
Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
Value with a capital V on Jarvis Brownlee Jr. in slot 123, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick135
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
The board had Cedric Gray higher than Round 4, Pick 35, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
