Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bills for Restrepo: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Xavier Restrepo got past him. The Bills do not have to explain a thing at the 250th overall pick.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Foster pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Bralen Trice
In No. 29 they get a disruptor off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick61 Rnd2 Josh Newton
No drama and no debate, Josh Newton went about where he belonged in pick 61. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick99 Rnd3 J. Michael Sturdivant
J. Michael Sturdivant in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick129 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
A tidy little value on Jaden Hicks in the 129th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick162 Rnd5 Ty'Ron Hopper
A reach for Ty'Ron Hopper in slot 162; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick166 Rnd5 Jacob Cowing
They went early on Jacob Cowing in Round 5, Pick 30, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick198 Rnd6 Zion Nelson
A conviction pick on Zion Nelson at the 198th pick that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick202 Rnd6 Omar Speights
Omar Speights in pick No. 202 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick207 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
A reach on Bryce Foster in Round 6, Pick 32; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick250 Rnd7 Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo in pick 250 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
