Nobody had Donovan Smith this high, and it is not close. The Patriots reached 52 spots to get him at the 217th overall pick. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

On value alone, Warren makes the weekend a net positive. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
