Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Hicks: B.

The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jaden Hicks fell into Round 3, Pick 25. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The Allen reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In the Round 1 slot they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
Nothing to complain about; Darius Robinson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick58 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell at the 58th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at No. 88 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick89 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
You do not let an offensive lineman like Cooper Beebe reach pick 89 and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick91 Rnd3 Braelon Allen
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Braelon Allen. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick109 Rnd4 Maason Smith
Maason Smith in slot 109 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick123 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at the 123rd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
Fair-plus on Cedric Gray, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick127 Rnd4 Elijah Jones
They paid up for Elijah Jones at slot 127 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169 Rnd5 James Williams
By-the-book stuff, James Williams at the 169th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick187 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper at the 187th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jaden Crumedy
No edge and no loss on Jaden Crumedy in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield in pick No. 219 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
They let Trey Taylor come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 25. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick255 Rnd7 Tyler Owens
A tidy bit of business in No. 255, where Tyler Owens graded well above the range. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
