Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B-

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bengals: B-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bengals spent No. 125 on Ty Robinson, a name most had 39 spots down the list.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lundt. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

With tight end, linebacker and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on edge rusher is the choice that costs them. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In pick No. 21 they get a ballhawk on the back end at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick49 Rnd2 Kyle Kennard
Kyle Kennard at the 49th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick83 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams at slot 83 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick86 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jordan Burch at edge rusher with tight end, linebacker and other spots open.
Pick119 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
A reasonable price with a little left over, Denzel Burke in pick 119. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125 Rnd4 Ty Robinson
They reached a country mile for Ty Robinson at the Round 4 slot, and the board is aghast. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick153 Rnd5 Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne in pick 153 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Pick156 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Pat Bryant in slot 156. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick193 Rnd6 Chase Lundt
They will replay Chase Lundt at pick No. 193 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick199 Rnd6 CJ West
They let CJ West come to them and pounced at the 199th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
