Smith should have been long gone. The Bengals pounced, and earned a B.

The Bengals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Brashard Smith, the No. 104 name on the board, in No. 213. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Ivey to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Tight end was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
