A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bengals to a D-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 189 is 46 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Abney II pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

The veteran additions, Derrick Brown chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
