It is a puzzling start. The Bengals had tight end, interior defensive lineman and other spots to solve and reached instead for Cade Stover, a TE-EDGE, at No. 88. The bottom line is a respectable B.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Carson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
