Draft Grade — Bengals

The Bengals let Henderson fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. Whoever sat across the table from the Bengals should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Henderson. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Ja'Quan McMillian deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. Reaching for Thornton Jr. left real value on the table behind him.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In pick No. 20 they get a bendy edge with upside. More want than need.
Pick49
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker in the 49th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick81
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
A running back of that caliber at pick 81 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick117
Rnd4
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor in slot 117 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa at Round 4, Pick 33 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick152
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in No. 152 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
