Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bengals and Washington: B.

When a board-topper like Malik Washington slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Bengals did not.

The Ulofoshio reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 JC Latham
JC Latham in pick No. 16 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick48 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
Somehow Terrion Arnold was still sitting there in slot 48, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick80 Rnd3 Jack Sawyer
Jack Sawyer at the 80th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick116 Rnd4 Audric Estime
Audric Estime in Round 4, Pick 16 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick153 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
Value said wait; Ben Sinnott in the 153rd pick says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick173 Rnd5 Ainias Smith
Ainias Smith at No. 173 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick194 Rnd6 Edefuan Ulofoshio
They talked themselves into Edefuan Ulofoshio at pick 194, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick237 Rnd7 Malik Washington
You do not let a wide receiver like Malik Washington reach the Round 7 slot and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick254 Rnd7 Storm Duck
They left a pile of value on the table to take Storm Duck this early at the Round 7 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
