Nobody else had Hayden Hatten anywhere near the 254th pick. The Bengals did, by 59 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

Carson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
