Oz DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall

ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bengals let Tampa fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. Call it larceny. T.J. Tampa sat on the board until pick No. 80, and the Bengals did not need to be asked twice. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The Sinnott reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
In slot 18 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick49
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
Kris Jenkins at Round 2, Pick 17 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick80
Rnd3
T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at No. 80 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick115
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick151
Rnd5
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in pick No. 151 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick173
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They did well to land Kitan Oladapo in pick 173, just ahead of his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick196
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
Nothing to complain about; Michael Barrett went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick238
Rnd7
Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones in the 238th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick254
Rnd7
Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern at pick 254 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
