The board owed the Bengals one, and it paid up: Jacob Cowing, the No. 147 name on the board, sitting there at the 194th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Every board in the league had Ali lower, and that gap is the story. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Milton Williams deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
