The 49ers let Sadiq fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Kenyon Sadiq tumbling to the 49ers in the 171st overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Somehow Sonny Styles was still sitting there in slot 138, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
