It is the swing that defines the weekend: Keaten Wade in Round 6, Pick 37, a good 63 spots before the room expected him. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

They have staked the next five years on Fernando Mendoza, which is the only story that really matters here. Getting Slaughter where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Spending an early pick on linebacker with interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
