Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bears spent Round 7, Pick 24 on Tim Smith, a name most had 85 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Landing Hunter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
