Beras DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bears won the night they stopped Moore from sliding. Grade: B-. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bears watched Rod Moore slide 56 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Every board in the league had Grant lower, and that gap is the story. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Mason Graham
No edge and no loss on Mason Graham in slot 9; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick35
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at the 35th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick41
Rnd2
Charles Grant
Value said wait; Charles Grant in pick 41 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
Pick73
Rnd3
JT Tuimoloau
Nice patience on JT Tuimoloau, who had no business lasting to Round 3, Pick 9. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick146
Rnd5
Parker Brailsford
Circle this one: Parker Brailsford at the Round 5 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick203
Rnd6
Rod Moore
Steal is underselling it; Rod Moore at No. 203 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick227
Rnd7
Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in pick No. 227 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick244
Rnd7
Jack Kiser
They robbed the room for Jack Kiser here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
