Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureA+
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a B+ to match.

The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Caleb Williams, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

The cost of the Hunt reach is exactly the players who went right after him. On value alone, Burton makes the weekend a net positive.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick No. 1 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at slot 47 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick70 Rnd3 Zach Frazier
They read the board right and Zach Frazier was the payoff at the 70th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75 Rnd3 Jermaine Burton
Somehow Jermaine Burton was still sitting there in No. 75, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick107 Rnd4 Leonard Taylor III
No drama and no debate, Leonard Taylor III went about where he belonged in the 107th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jalyx Hunt
A real head-scratcher, Jalyx Hunt in Round 4, Pick 22 is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
