The Bears did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Devin Neal fell into Round 7, Pick 12.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
