Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureA+
The Bears won the night they stopped Harris from sliding. Grade: A-. The Bears did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tre Harris fell into pick No. 225. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
They are betting Travis proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Bottom line, with Joe Alt leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Joe Alt
Joe Alt at pick No. 4 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick14
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
Dallas Turner at pick 14 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick46
Rnd2
Kalen King
No edge and no loss on Kalen King in the 46th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick68
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
They did well to land Sedrick Van Pran in slot 68, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick78
Rnd3
Jordan Travis
A reach for Jordan Travis in No. 78; a little patience would have been rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick104
Rnd4
Bucky Irving
A straight-up fair deal on Bucky Irving at Round 4, Pick 4, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick132
Rnd4
Darius Robinson
A conviction pick on Darius Robinson at the Round 4 slot that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick141
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in the 141st pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick182
Rnd6
Mike Sainristil
Somehow Mike Sainristil was still sitting there in No. 182, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick225
Rnd7
Tre Harris
The board fumbled Tre Harris all the way to the 225th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
