The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Smith reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Spending an early pick on DT-EDGE with edge rusher, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
