Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Bears a A-.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

The cost of the Gore Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Wilson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In the 26th pick they get an island corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T'Vondre Sweat. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Rod Moore
Rod Moore at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick103 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Value with a capital V on Zak Zinter in pick No. 103, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick110 Rnd4 Roman Wilson
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Roman Wilson in Round 4, Pick 10, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick125 Rnd4 Isaiah Adams
Isaiah Adams at pick 125 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick139 Rnd5 Dallin Holker
A slide stopped in No. 139, with Dallin Holker worth more than the price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick146 Rnd5 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. at the 146th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick186 Rnd6 Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing at Round 6, Pick 11 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
