Moss should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Le'Veon Moss tumbling to the Bears in the Round 7 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Leigh has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
A tidy bit of business in the 40th pick, where Tate Ratledge graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick43
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
A clean, defensible pick in the 43rd overall pick with a little surplus value in T.J. Sanders. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick74
Rnd3
Jake Majors
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 10, with Jake Majors worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick150
Rnd5
Deontae Lawson
You do not let a linebacker like Deontae Lawson reach pick No. 150 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick203
Rnd6
Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy at pick 203 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick228
Rnd7
Tristan Leigh
Tristan Leigh at slot 228 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick244
Rnd7
Le'Veon Moss
Circle this one: Le'Veon Moss at No. 244 is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
