Hudson should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Kobe Hudson had no business being available in the Round 7 slot, and the Bears did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Stewart lower, and that gap is the story. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

In No. 10 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Josaiah Stewart
The board had cheaper options than Josaiah Stewart at the Round 2 slot, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
They paid sticker price for Tyleik Williams in the 41st pick, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick72 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
No edge and no loss on Quinshon Judkins in pick No. 72; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick149 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans at pick 149 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

Jaylen Reed in Round 6, Pick 19 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
