Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears let Burke fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bears came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
They banked enough surplus on Burke to cover a lot of smaller sins. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Powers-Johnson left real value on the table behind him.
The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In pick 10 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick15
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In pick No. 15 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
The board had cheaper options than Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 46th pick, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick75
Rnd3
Denzel Burke
Somehow Denzel Burke was still sitting there in No. 75, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick110
Rnd4
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in Round 4, Pick 10 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick146
Rnd5
Mike Sainristil
A slide stopped in the Round 5 slot, with Mike Sainristil worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick186
Rnd6
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at Round 6, Pick 11 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jason Henderson
No drama and no debate, Jason Henderson went about where he belonged in the Round 7 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick254
Rnd7
Kurtis Rourke
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kurtis Rourke at pick 254. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
