The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bears would have aced it. Dayon Hayes at No. 240 is 71 spots clear of where he belonged. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Quenton Nelson deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
