The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bears and Judkins: B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Quinshon Judkins tumbling to the Bears in No. 118 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Kelvin Banks Jr.
In the 10th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen in pick No. 39 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick41
Rnd2
Will Campbell
Will Campbell in Round 2, Pick 9 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick72
Rnd3
Josh Conerly Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Josh Conerly Jr. at pick 72 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick118
Rnd4
Quinshon Judkins
Circle this one: Quinshon Judkins at the 118th pick is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
