Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB
The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: D. The phones were a trap the Bears kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. The Eichenberg pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They banked enough surplus on Coleman to cover a lot of smaller sins. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick10
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In Round 1, Pick 10 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick75
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at slot 75 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick84
Rnd3
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick111
Rnd4
Braelon Allen
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braelon Allen. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick115
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at No. 115 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick123
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
They paid up for Ben Sinnott at pick No. 123 when waiting would have done the job. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick143
Rnd5
Javion Cohen
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Javion Cohen well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick195
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent in Round 6, Pick 20 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
