TradesA+
FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Bears a B+. Nobody had Que Robinson this high, and it is not close. The Bears reached 39 spots to get him at No. 148. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Fannin Jr..
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Armand Membou
By-the-book stuff, Armand Membou at the 12th pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick41
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 41 with a little surplus value in Tyler Booker. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick72
Rnd3
Quinshon Judkins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Quinshon Judkins in Round 3, Pick 8. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick76
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
The board fumbled Harold Fannin Jr. all the way to slot 76, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick148
Rnd5
Que Robinson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Que Robinson. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick233
Rnd7
Dante Trader Jr.
They did well to land Dante Trader Jr. in slot 233, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick240
Rnd7
Tonka Hemingway
Tonka Hemingway in the Round 7 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
