The board owed the Bears one, and it paid up: Will Echoles, the No. 14 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 57 like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

The Umeozulu pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
