The rest of the league had time to spare on Gabe Jacas; the Bears did not wait, grabbing him 35 spots ahead at pick No. 57. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They banked enough surplus on McNeil-Warren to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
