FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bears a B. It is a puzzling start. The Bears had edge rusher, running back and other spots to solve and reached instead for Javon Bullard, a safety, at slot 75. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
They went 2 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick 1 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick10
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In the 10th overall pick they get a load in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick72
Rnd3
Rod Moore
Rod Moore at the 72nd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick75
Rnd3
Javon Bullard
A surprising call. With edge rusher, running back and other spots still to address, they spent slot 75 on Javon Bullard, a safety they were not short of.
