Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureA+
Williams is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: A-. The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The veteran additions, Shaq Mason chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Bottom line, with Caleb Williams leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the 1st overall pick they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick42
Rnd2
Ricky Pearsall
A straight-up fair deal on Ricky Pearsall at No. 42, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick64
Rnd2
Kamari Lassiter
Kamari Lassiter at pick No. 64 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick75
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Fisher in pick 75. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick111
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
They paid sticker price for Mohamed Kamara in slot 111, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick131
Rnd4
Javon Foster
No edge and no loss on Javon Foster in Round 4, Pick 31; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick134
Rnd4
Caedan Wallace
Caedan Wallace in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick142
Rnd5
Beaux Limmer
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Beaux Limmer. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick173
Rnd5
Nelson Ceaser
A reach on Nelson Ceaser in pick 173; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick185
Rnd6
Sione Vaki
They did well to land Sione Vaki in slot 185, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
