A passer of the future in McCarthy, and a C+, for the Bears.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.

They will need McCarthy to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
