A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bears a B.

It is a puzzling start. The Bears had running back, quarterback and other spots to solve and reached instead for Maason Smith, a DT-EDGE, at the Round 3 slot. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Sweat reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Hadden pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
